As you continue driving up the coast, you’ll come across Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. Eventually the itinerary strays into Queensland, where you can enjoy one last stopover on the Gold Coast before coasting into Brisbane.

About three hours down the road you will come across Mudgee. After the hustle and bustle of Sydney, this quiet little town offers the perfect change of pace. Keep going in the same direction towards Dubbo and into the outback, via the historic town of Cobar. The itinerary will take you as far west as Broken Hill, an isolated mining town at the South Australian border. Despite being in the middle of nowhere, Broken Hill boasts several interesting tourist attractions, such as art galleries, museums and abandoned mines.

From Melbourne to Apollo Bay and Port Campbell, this part of the journey explores Victoria’s coastal towns and culturally diverse cities.
