This spectacular three week itinerary will leave you craving more of this popular coastal area. Start your journey in sub-tropical Brisbane with its tranquil river and leafy parks. Navigate up Queensland’s southern coast and appreciate the raw natural beauty of Heritage Listed Fraser Island. Witness vibrant corals and diverse wildlife at the world-famous Great Barrier Reef and relax in Cairns tropical climate on one of the city’s many pristine beaches. Head down inland and enjoy the natural wonders of Cania Gorge or have a scenic picnic in The Garden City of Toowoomba.


Day 1 - 2
Explore the sub-tropical capital of Queensland. Take a stroll along leafy South Bank and sit at one of the many cafes, ride the Giant Observation Wheel for panoramic views or dip your feet in the country’s only street beach situated in the heart of the city. Visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and cuddle a furry friend or take the kids to the nearby Australia Zoo, keep your eyes open for Bindi Irwin! Spend the day visiting the spectacular Gold Coast. Swim at one of the pristine patrolled beaches of the area. Get lost in Pacific Fair, the giant shopping complex or visit Jupiter’s Casino for entertainment and dining. Day 3

Visit the areas spectacular beaches including Kings Beach, Golden Beach and Bulcock Beach. Walk along the boulevard and breathe in the pristine coastline. Scuba dive or snorkel with dugongs, dolphins and turtles or take the kids to Under Water World and have the chance to swim side by side with friendly seals or dive with sharks. Play a game of golf at scenic Caloundra Golf Club.
Day 4

Explore the tranquil Noosa River in a kayak, canoe or on a unique gondola ride. Picnic beside the river or sit back and relax at one of the area’s most laidback cafes. Visit the nearby Noosa Heads and lie on the glorious beaches or shop until you drop in Hastings Street just a stone’s throw from the beach.
Day 5

Swim, snorkel or scuba dive in the crystal clear waters of one of the Bay’s patrolled beaches. Stop by Reef World and experience the magic of marine life. Make your way to the marina for a spectacular Whale Watching Tour between mid-July and November where you are guaranteed a sighting of nature’s giants.
Day 6
Take a day trip to the nearby World Heritage Listed Fraser Island and enjoy a rugged 4WD tour through the diverse environment. Experience a scenic flight to Lady Elliot Island and explore the pristine Great Barrier Reef with its vibrant coral, reef fish, dolphins, dugong, manta rays and sea turtles. Later dine in one of diverse restaurants in the area.
Day 7

On the way stop at charming colonial Maryborough with its stately old buildings and homes, fascinating museum and bustling market held every Thursday. In Bundaberg, take a guided tour of the Bundaberg Rum Distillery and sample some of their fine produce. Wander through the scenic Botanical Gardens and visit the Hinkler Hall of Aviation or Fairymead House. Have a coffee in charming 1928 Café.
Day 8
Time : 3 Hours 30 Minutes
Marvel at crocodiles at the Koorana Crocodile Farm just outside of the city centre. Step back in time at the Rockhampton Heritage Village, a township museum showcasing Rockhampton’s rich history. Brave the eerie Capricorn Caves on an adventure tour or relax at the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo.
Day 9

Visit beautiful beachside Yeppoon and explore all the natural wonders of the surrounding area. Take a trip to Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary and cuddle a koala or take a walk on the Double Head Track and enjoy stunning views. Stop by North Keppel Island and witness pristine coastline and Listerine coloured waters.
Day 10
Distance : 350km Time : 3 Hours 50 Minutes
Take a trip to the fun-filled Bluewater Lagoon, an area equivalent to three 50 metre swimming pools and a safe swimming environment year round. Stroll around the world-class marina village with its tropical ambience and array of shops, bars and restaurants. Take a day trip to the magnificent Great Barrier Reef and explore all its wonders.
Day 11
Distance : 150km Time : 2 Hours
Dive into the heart of tropical heaven and visit the spectacular Whitsundays. Enjoy a laidback morning exploring the bustling Airlie Beach Main Street. Take a swim in Airlie Beach Lagoon surrounded by leafy park ground or lie on one of the pristine white sand beaches. Visit a day spa, go kayaking or enjoy a peaceful afternoon of fishing before heading to one of the area’s best restaurants.
Day 12
Take a day trip to the world famous Great Barrier Reef and dive amongst colourful coral and local wildlife. Visit the iconic Heart Reef and make a stop at the magnificent Whitehaven Beach with its famed sand and temperate water.
Day 13

Stop for lunch in beautiful Townsville and take a walk along one of the golden beaches. Arrive in Cairns and experience a dose of natural beauty. Stop by the open air markets and purchase delicious fresh produce. Visit the historic Paronella Park with its castle ruins or kayak, swim or snorkel around the magical coastline.
Day 14
Don’t hesitate to experience magnificent views on the must-see Kuranda Train and Skyrail tour just outside of Cairns. Experience a Great Barrier Reef Tour and marvel at the largest coral reef system in the world. Jump out of a plane on a tandem skydive or white water raft down one of the area’s turbulent rivers. Visit the night zoo and enjoy all the fun-filled entertainment.
Day 15
Distance : 264km Time : 3 Hours 35 Minutes
Discover the magic of the Undara Lava Tubes, the area’s main attraction. See the fascinating underground geological phenomenon and learn about the region’s ecology. Watch the sun set over the unique terrain. Dine at the Saloon Bar and enjoy a vibrant country atmosphere.
Day 16
Distance : 383km Time : 4 Hours 43 Minutes
Learn about the town’s history at one of the National Trust owned museums. Walk around the city and absorb the beauty of the city murals completed by local artists. Peruse arts and crafts and sample local produce at one of the weekend markets or learn about WW11 at the WW11 Photographic Display.
Day 17
Distance : 180km Time : 2 Hours
Walk one of the area’s two scenic walking tracks that take you to the heart of this tranquil park. See unique vegetation and wildlife in their natural habitat. Enjoy a peaceful picnic beside a creek or mountain bike on the park’s 17 km boundary firebreak.
Day 18
Distance : 300km Time : 3 Hours
Take a relaxed stroll through Emerald Botanic Gardens located in the heart of Queensland’s Central Highlands. Stop by the Historic Railway Station to glimpse some impressive architecture and witness the world’s largest Van Gogh Sunflower painting at an impressive height of 24 metres with 13.6 tonnes of steel.
Day 19
Distance : 412km Time : 4 Hours 35 Minutes
Keep your eyes peeled for Platypus in Three Moon Creek. Drink in the unique rock formations such as Castle Mountain and fish at the well-stocked lake. Walk one of the many tracks and enjoy a picnic beside one of the jagged cliffs.
Day 20
Distance : 418km Time : 5 Hours
Finish your trip in Toowoomba, colloquially referred to as The Garden City. Spend the afternoon at Cobb & Co Museum and witness horse drawn vehicles or take a trip to Crows Nest Falls which plummets 25 metres. See Toowoomba in all its glory from Picnic Point or visit Bunnyconnellan Food Emporium to sample top quality extra virgin olive oil, wines and gourmet food.
Day 21
Distance : 125km Time : 1 Hour 40 Minutes
Enjoy a luxurious sleep in before navigating your way back to sunny Brisbane. Spend the afternoon on a relaxing boat ride up the Brisbane River or enjoy one of the laidback cafes the city has to offer.
