ITINERARY

Day 1
Sydney to Goulburn
Distance : 200 Kms Time : 2 Hours 25 Minutes

Morning: Pick up your motorhome nice and early at our motorhome hire Sydney branch. Get familiar with the features and make sure you stop by the supermarket to fill up the fridge with delicious goodies and snacks for the adventure ahead! Drive the Southern Highland and stop at Mittagong to grab a coffee.

Afternoon:  Arrive in Goulburn around lunchtime. Prep some wraps or other quick meals and enjoy the comfort of your motorhome, or head to Belmore Park. Alternatively, you can stop at a local café. Make sure you snap fun photos at the iconic giant sheep, Big Merino.

Evening: Cook in your motorhome’s kitchen or enjoy a local takeaway. Relax, enjoy a quiet evening under the stars, and recharge for the journey ahead.

Day 1

Day 2
Goulburn to Wagga Wagga
Distance : 322 Kms Time : 3 Hours 35 Minutes

Morning: Cook breakfast in your motorhome and get ready for the drive. Make your way to Wagga Wagga, stopping at Gundagai to see the famous Dog on the Tuckerbox.

Afternoon: Stop at Coolamon for a quick lunch at one of the bakeries (try the local pies!). Arrive in Wagga Wagga in the early afternoon. Stretch your legs by exploring the Botanic Gardens and enjoy the bird aviary.

Evening: Set up camp at your caravan park. Relax by the Murrumbidgee River and soak up the scenery. Cook dinner in your motorhome and look at the stars!

Day 2

Day 3
Wagga Wagga to Bendigo
Distance : 424 Kms Time : 5 Hours

Morning: Aim to leave by 8 or 9 am to make the most of your day! Head to Albury and take a stroll in the Botanic Gardens, enjoy the manicured gardens and the seasonal blooms. Grab a coffee and a treat for the kids at the River Deck Café before continuing your journey.

Afternoon: Drive to Bendigo. If time allows, enjoy a short underground tour at Central Deborah Gold Mine to experience Bendigo’s gold rush history! Very famous with kids (and even grown-ups!). Alternatively, enjoy the stunning Rosalind Park.

Evening: Have a relaxed evening, cook up a delicious meal in your motorhome’s kitchen and enjoy a movie night. You can even make some popcorn thanks to the microwave (240v power only).

Day 3

Day 4
Bendigo to Geelong (ferry)
Distance : 211 Kms Time : 3 Hours

Morning: Drive early to Ballarat and enjoy a nice breakfast there at the local café, such as Bibo Café + Restaurant. Take a short walk around Lake Wendouree and the Botanical Gardens.

Afternoon: Arrive at the Spirit of Tasmania in Geelong Terminal (136 Corio Quay Rd, North Geelong VIC 3215) early. Due to ticket availability, you must board the Spirit of Tasmania with your motorhome on the date and time we provide. 

Evening: Board the Spirit of Tasmania for the overnight ferry to Devonport, Tasmania. There are restaurants on board, as you are not allowed to stay in the motorhome. You can upgrade your Recliner Seat to an accommodation directly on the Spirit of Tasmania website.

👉 Note: Biosecurity in Tasmania is extremely strict. You are not allowed to board with fresh vegetables, seafood, honey, plants etc. Check this website for more information.

Day 4

Day 5
Devonport (ferry) to Hobart
Distance : 307 Kms Time : 4 Hours

Morning: Disembark from the Spirit of Tasmania in Devonport early in the morning! Head south to Hobart via the Midland Highway (A1). Visit Sheffield and its colourful outdoor artwork, known as the ‘Town of Murals’. Stop at Launceston for coffee and breakfast.

Afternoon: Take a little detour to the Tamar Valley, one of Tasmania’s most scenic wine regions. Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at Josef Chromy (or check out our favourite vineyards list). Continue your journey through the heart of Tasmania, passing through charming country towns like Campbell Town and Ross, both perfect for a short walk and photo stop.

Late afternoon: Arrive in Hobart and enjoy a stroll around Salamanca Place and Battery Point to soak in Hobart’s historic charms. Head to our Hobart branch by 3:30 pm to drop off your motorhome.
