ITINERARY

Day 1
Hobart

Discover the stunning natural capital of Australia’s Apple Isle. Enjoy a walk through historic Salamanca and Battery Point and sip on a coffee at one of the many top-notch cafes. Stroll around the picturesque wharf or venture up Mount Wellington and experience a spectacular panoramic view of the city from 1271 metres above sea level. Take a trip to the world-famous Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), the largest privately funded Museum in Australia.

Day 2
Hobart to Strahan
Distance : 300km Time : 4 Hours 20 Minutes

Walk around the scenic Macquarie Harbour and witness Strahan’s historical buildings or hop on one of the famed Gordon River Cruises and navigate through one of the most unspoilt World Heritage areas on earth. Travel a short distance to the pristine sands of magnificent Ocean Beach or take an adventurous fast jet boat ride up King River.

Day 3
Strahan to Devonport
Distance : 220km Time : 2 Hours 48 Minutes

Take time to experience the beauty of Cradle Mountain on the way to Devonport. Walk around stunning Dove Lake and immerse yourself in wild Tasmanian Wilderness. Visit the Don River Railway in Devonport, home to the largest collection of steam locomotive and passenger carriages in the state or stop by the Bass Strait Maritime Centre.

Day 4
Devonport to Launceston
Distance : 100km Time : 1 Hour 15 Minutes

Explore the scenic Cataract Gorge just two minutes outside of Launceston’s CBD with its many walking trails and take a ride in the world’s largest single span chairlift. Visit the charming Penny Royal or enjoy the Country Club Casino. Dive into the nearby Tamar River regions and sample some of the world’s best wines.

Day 5
Launcestion to St Helens
Distance : 166km Time : 2 Hours

Enjoy a hearty meal in the historic Pub in the Paddock and see local memorabilia. Take a walk to nearby Eddystone Lighthouse and enjoy the natural beauty of Mt William National Park. Make the short trip to spectacular Bay of Fires or Binalong Bay and witness unspoilt Tasmanian coastline.

Day 6
St Helens to Port Arthur
Distance : 280km Time : 4 Hours

Visit Australia’s most significant open air museum, a World Heritage Listed site and experience a slice of convict history. Take a guided tour of the ruins or later take part in an eerie paranormal investigation. See Tasmania’s first operational mine or enjoy a popular Tasman Island Cruise and witness dolphins, whales and the magnificent rugged Tasmanian coastline.

Day 7
Port Arthur to Hobart
Distance : 100km Time : 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Make your way back to the scenic capital and enjoy the wonderful views that the east coast has to offer. Make a stop at Richmond to get a photo of the oldest bridge in Australia and to sample some boiled lollies from the old fashioned lolly store.
