Liability, Fines & Damage
Each tier of damage liability coverage offers different levels of protection if your motorhome is damaged during your rental.
- Standard Liability
- Requires a $5,000 security bond at pick-up.
- The bond is refunded at the end of your trip if no damage occurs (refunds can take up to 14 business days).
- Liability Reduction & Maximum Cover
- Do not require a bond payment.
- Offer greater protection and reduce your financial responsibility in the event of damage.
We typically recommend our Maximum Cover Package, as it provides the highest level of protection and peace of mind for your holiday. For full details, see our: liability reduction page for more information!
At all times, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Yes, this is an additional package you can purchase with the Standard Liability or Liability Reduction options for $90.00 – it is already included as a bonus in the Maximum Cover Package.
This package covers any accidental damage to the windscreen (including any other windows on the vehicle) or tyres, which is important if you’re driving in mountainous and regional areas or the Outback.
Sometimes, small repairs and replacements are needed. Any repair up to $100 including GST needs no authorisation from Cruisin’. Please keep your receipt so that we can reimburse you for the repairs.
For repairs over $100, please call our roadside team on 1300 016 532 to obtain confirmation.
What happens depends on the cause of the damage:
- Mechanical issues (not caused by the renter):
If your motorhome breaks down due to a mechanical fault, we will arrange roadside assistance and do our best to provide a replacement vehicle as quickly as possible so you can continue your journey. - Damage caused during your hire:
If the vehicle cannot be driven due to damage from an accident, collision, or misuse, you may be responsible for costs depending on your chosen damage liability option (Standard Liability, Liability Reduction, or Maximum Cover). In some cases, a replacement vehicle may not be available.
Our team will guide you through the next steps and work to resolve the situation as smoothly as possible.
All our motorhomes are insured in case of accidents, so please make sure everyone is safe before you contact our roadside team.
You may be responsible for the cost of damages to the third-party property or the rented motorhome as well as any associated admin fees.
