Australia Day Festival At Queensland’s Leafy Southbank
Enjoy a fun-filled experience for the entire family and celebrate our National Public Holiday at Brisbane’s popular South Bank.
Australia’s favourite public holiday has rolled around again and sub-tropical Brisbane is preparing for yet another Australia Day extravaganza.
Located in Queensland’s popular South Bank Parklands, the Australia Day Festival will be held on the 26th of January and will provide entertainment and live music for everyone in the family. With interactive art installations, the Young Designer Market and a magnificent firework display over the iconic Wheel of Brisbane, this event is a must for anyone wanting to be part of a vibrant and friendly atmosphere on this patriotic public holiday.
Don’t miss the traditional flag raising ceremony which concludes with the spectacular RAAF flypast and twenty-one gun salute at noon. This year you also have the opportunity to be part of a ‘human collage’ mural wall featuring photos and messages of thanks from the community. Add your own photo and message during the day!
The kids will love splashing around in Streets Beach and foodies won’t want to miss Great Australian Bites; an exhibition of how to master the ‘true blue’ Aussie BBQ. Watch as some of the state’s finest produce is transformed into gourmet delights and sample canapés incorporating cooking techniques and ingredients from all over the world. 2013 MasterChef runner-up Lynton Tapp will be there to give you a few tips on cooking some of Aussie’s finest produce!
What are you waiting for? Grab your picnic basket and make plans to celebrate Australia Day at South Bank. See you there!
