WHAT IS A RELOCATION?

In order to meet our rental requirements as a motorhome operator, we sometimes need to transfer vehicles from one branch to another as a one way rental. This is called a relocation.

WHY DO RELOCATIONS COST ONLY $1 PER DAY?

Since the bookings are pre-arranged with limited flexibility, we offer travellers heavily discounted rates to move these vehicles from one city branch to another. This provides an ideal opportunity for budget conscious renters to fit in some sightseeing while travelling inexpensively between branch locations.

WHERE CAN I RELOCATE A MOTORHOME?

You can travel to/from any of our branch locations, depending on our relocation needs. This is a great opportunity for travellers to inexpensively drive a motorhome along Australia’s picturesque East Coast. Keep an eye on our website for any current relocation offers here.

HOW MANY DAYS DO I HAVE TO RELOCATE THE MOTORHOME AND HOW MANY KILOMETERS ARE INCLUDED?

CAN I RENT THE MOTORHOME FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME? 

Subject to availability you may extend the duration of your motorhome at the time of booking, however you will be required to pay the standard daily rental rate on the vehicle type for the extra days. Each extra day includes an extra 300 free kilometres. Our friendly reservations team can assist you with customising your holiday if you ring 1300 664 485.

CAN I PURCHASE EXTRA KILOMETERS? 

Any extra kilometres driven on top of those included will be charged an additional $0.28 per kilometre.

WHAT INSURANCE WILL I PAY? 

Upon entering your Rental Agreement, you are expected to pay a Standard Liability security bond of $1000 with credit card and any surcharges that apply. If the vehicle is returned in the same condition it was collected and there is no new damage, the $1000 bond will be refunded to your credit card within approximately 14 working days.

IF TRAVELLING TO/FROM HOBART, WHO PAYS FOR THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGERS TO BE TRANSPORTED ON THE SPIRIT OF TASMANIA?

If your relocation includes travel to Hobart from the mainland or vice versa, we will pay the cost to board the vehicle plus one driver on an Ocean Recliner Seat.  Any extra passenger bookings or accommodation upgrades will be at your expense and can be made under a separate booking directly with the Spirit of Tasmania online or you can ring our reservations team at 1300 664 485 for assistance.

CAN I CHANGE THE SPIRIT OF TASMANIA SAILING DATES? 

Pick up and drop off dates are flexible, however passengers must board the Spirit of Tasmania with the motorhome on the date specified on the relocation booking. For a list of available sailing dates please see here.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED WITH THE MOTORHOME?

All motorhomes include kitchen and living equipment, bed linen and bath towels. Other optional extras may be purchased at the branch. Please contact our reservations team at 1300 664 485 for details.

HOW MANY PASSENGERS CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE RELOCATION OF THE MOTORHOME IN ADDITION TO THE DRIVER? 

One driver is included in your booking. There is an additional cost of $5 per day, per additional driver. A maximum of three drivers can be included on the rental agreement. HOW DO I BOOK THE MOTORHOME? 

You can choose from current relocation offers available and book online or quote the Cruisin’ Reference Number when you contact our reservations team at 1300 664 485,  and they can help talk you through the process.

DO I NEED TO PAY FOR FUEL? 

We provide the vehicle with a full tank of fuel to start your trip. You are then required to refill the tank as needed and return the vehicle to the final branch location with a full tank of fuel.
