Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about motorhome relocations in Australia.

1. What Exactly Is A Relocation?

Motorhomes are our livelihood, and we have vehicles coming and going all across the country - which leads to some necessary reorganisation when too many motorhomes end up in one city.

That's where you come in!

2. Why Should I Hire A Motorhome Relocation?

A motorhome relocation is the perfect way to go for a holiday without breaking the budget. The trip is short and sweet, and you'll get to experience the main highlights of a motorhome adventure.

If you're thinking or planning on buying a motorhome of your own, this is also a great way to test out the on-the-go lifestyle!

Since the bookings are pre-arranged with limited flexibility, we're offering a heavily discounted rate to thank you for your understanding. This $1 a day opportunity is a mutual benefit for us and the budget-conscious traveller who wants to fit in some sightseeing on the way.

3. Are Tolls Included With The Relocation?

Tolls are not included and it will be your responsibility to arrange a toll pass.

4. Can I Change The Dates Of The Listed Relocation?

No. Pick up dates are fixed and cannot be changed.

5. Can I Extend My Relocation?

If the vehicle you're relocating is available for longer, you may extend at the time of booking, however you will be required to pay the standard daily rental rate of the vehicle for those extra days.

Each extra day includes a bonus of 300 kilometres. Call our friendly reservations team if you would like to request an extension on 1300 664 485. 

During your relocation booking, any extra kilometres will be charged an additional $0.28 per kilometre. 

6. Can I Book My Own Spirit Of Tasmania Ticket?

No. We will organise and pay the tickets for yourself (1x driver) and the motorhome. The only ticket you will be responsible for is your passenger's.

7. How Flexible Is My Spirit of Tasmania Booking?

In short: It's not flexible. While your pick-up and drop-off dates are negotiable, we expect you to be on the Spirit of Tasmania with the motorhome on the date specified.

Space on the boat is limited for motorhomes, so rebooking is difficult. We appreciate your understanding of this.

8. Can I Add Additional Drivers?

The standard $1 a day booking includes one driver, but each additional driver is charged $5 per day. You can add up to 3 drivers on your rental agreement depending on the size of the vehicle.

9. How Do I Book A Motorhome Relocation In Australia?

Check out our current relocation offers online and use the table to book online or quote the Cruisin' Reference Number when you call our reservation team on 1300 664 485.

10. What's Included?

If you're travelling from Hobart to the mainland (or vice-versa), Cruisin' will pay for your Ocean Recliner Seat and the vehicle's boarding ticket – however, if you're travelling with a companion, you'll need to purchase an extra ticket.

If you already know someone's coming with you, tell us at the time of your booking and we can help you organise any extra Spirit Tickets.

We'll also provide all your basic motorhome needs such as linen, including sheets, doonas, pillows, and towels. You can even hire some extra accessories to really elevate your trip!

There is also a kitchen on board with all cutlery and crockery provided. The size of your kitchen will vary depending on which motorhome relocation you've booked, but they each offer their own comfort! You can dine in your motorhome, or you can hire an outdoor table and chair setting for just $35 and enjoy a meal alfresco under the stars.

11. Where Can I Relocate A Motorhome?

You can travel to/from any of our branch locations depending on our relocation needs. This is a great opportunity for travellers to travel to major cities across Australia such as Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Perth.

12. What Are My Insurance Options?

With a relocation, you'll be required to pay a Standard Liability security bond of $1000 by card. If the vehicle is returned with no damages or issues, your bond will be refunded to your card within 14 working days.

13. What Are My Costs?

Aside from any additional tickets for the Spirit of Tasmania, you will also need to pay for fuel. We'll fill up the vehicle with a full tank of fuel before you start your trip, which you will then refill as needed throughout the trip. Don't forget to fill up the tank before you return.

Some other things to budget for include campgrounds, attractions, and food. But with some time and research, you'll be able to save big and enjoy a budget-friendly motorhome holiday.
