Music lovers will begin their Splendour motorhome hire adventure in Queensland’s vibrant capital of Brisbane. Collect your motorhome from the Cruisin’ Brisbane branch and kick back in the laidback suburb of South Bank known for its vibrant cafes and relaxed atmosphere. Make the most of the free Wi-Fi in the area or grab a book and lap up the sun at Streets Beach. Ride the Brisbane Wheel for fantastic views of the Brisbane city skyline and later visit the Valley for great nightlife and bars.

Day two of your Splendour in the Grass motorhome hire adventure will take you to glittering Gold Coast, a destination so laidback it’s practically horizontal. If you want a day jam-packed with adrenaline and adventure visit one of the fast paced theme parks including Movie World, Dreamworld, Wet ‘n’ Wild or Sea World. Don’t miss Tower of Terror or Pandemonium for a terrifying ride experience! If you’re looking for some R&R lie on one of the golden beaches, visit one of the many day spas in Surfers Paradise or shop until you drop at Pacific Fair.

Arrive in Byron Bay bright and early to guarantee your spot at one of the city’s best caravan parks (we recommend you book ahead!). Wander around the city centre and lap up the relaxed vibe of this coastal destination before hitting the beach for a surf lesson with an expert instructor. In the afternoon, face your fears and stop by Skydive Byron Bay for the best birds’ eye view you’ll ever have of the spectacular coastline. For a view without the adrenaline rush walk to Cape Byron and admire the iconic lighthouse and sweeping vistas.

Day one of Splendour in the Grass 2014 has commenced! Rise early and enjoy a hearty breakfast at one of the many relaxed breakfast cafes by the beach before making your way to where the action is. Friday will see some of the biggest acts hitting the amphitheatre including six time Grammy- Award winning Outkast making their debut performance in Australia. Other major acts include Interpol, Childish Gambino, Angus and Julia Stone and preppy London Grammar. Visit the Smirnoff Cocktail Bar during the day and chill upstairs in the lounge or downstairs on the dance floor with some amazing artists in attendance.

The second day of Splendour in the Grass will see more star-studded performances by both Australian and international acts. Croon along with Two Door Cinema Club, admire unique City and Colour or sing along with Vance Joy’s triple J song of the year: Riptide. Other artists performing include Metronomy and Rufus. Weave your way inland back towards Brisbane. Stopover at Tenterfield and explore nearby Bald Rock; touted as the largest exposed granite rock in the Southern Hemisphere. Wander around the town centre and appreciate the historic buildings including the iconic Tenterfield Saddlery, classified by the National Trust of Australia in 1972. Visit several of the nearby wineries to enjoy wine tastings and a cheese platter before settling in the comfort of your motorhome for the night.

Arrive early in Queensland’s refreshing Garden City. Take a leisurely stroll around the majestic Japanese Garden before walking around the city and appreciating the CBD’s historic buildings including the grand Empire Theatre, the largest regional theatre in Australia. Get a feel for what life was like in the 19th century at Cobb and Co Museum featuring almost fifty horse-drawn vehicles. Dine at one of the many restaurants or pubs located in Toowoomba’s city centre.

Spend the morning in Toowoomba before leisurely making your way back to Brisbane on the last day of your motorhome hire adventure. Visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for a photo up close and personal with a koala or take a kayaking tour down the Brisbane River before returning your vehicle to the Cruisin’ Brisbane branch.
