Everything You Need to Know About Motorhome Relocations

Are you on a tight budget but still want to travel? Consider hiring a Cruisin’ Motorhome for just $1 a day on a relocation from one of our locations to another!

As a motorhome operator, we sometimes need to transfer vehicles from one branch to another to meet our rental requirements. When this happens, we offer travellers discounted motorhome relocation specials. This provides an ideal opportunity for budget-conscious renters to fit in some sightseeing while travelling inexpensively between pick-up and drop-off locations! 

We offer relocations from a variety of major cities such as Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Perth. When offers are available, they’ll be added to our Relocation Deals page – but you’ll want to keep an eye out because these go fast!

Our $1 per day relocation rentals include the vehicle, one driver, and up to 5500 kilometres of travel. All kitchen and living equipment, bed linen and towels are provided as well. And you can take as many passengers as the vehicle can accommodate! 

Tip: Travelling with someone? Additional driver fees are charged at $5 per day per additional driver.

How Does It Really Work?

That’s super easy! You need to request a booking from our Relocation Deals page by clicking on the ‘Book Now’ button for the relocation that you would like. You will have all the relocation details there:

• From and to which location (1)
• Which dates (pick up and drop off) (2)
• Which vehicle (3)
• Number of days allowed (4)
• Number of free kms allowed (5)
• Date of the Spirit of Tasmania (if applicable) (6)

What Is Included?

Regardless of which vehicle you decide to hire, you’ll find cosy motorhomes fitted with all your basic motorhome needs and features. All linen is provided, including sheets, doonas, pillows, pillowcases and towels.

All Cruisin’ motorhomes are fitted with an immaculate modern kitchen on board, including a gas stove, microwave, and all cutlery and crockery provided. You can dine in the comfort of your motorhome or hire an outdoor table and chair set for just $40 and enjoy a meal under the stars!

How Much Will I Pay?

You will be paying $1 per day for the time of the relocation deal selected.

• Security Bond: In addition to this great deal, you will be required to pay a $1,000 security bond at pick-up. If the vehicle is returned with no new damage, the bond will be refunded to your credit card within approximately 14 business days.
• Extra Kilometres: During your relocation booking, any extra kilometres will be charged an additional $0.28 per kilometre. 
• Fuel: We provide a full tank of fuel at the start of your trip. You will need to pay for any refuelling during your journey. The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
• Additional Driver: Additional driver fees are charged at $5 per day per additional driver.
• Extra Accessories: Camping table and chairs, GPS, Child Seats…
• Spirit of Tasmania Extra Seats & Upgrades: Any extra passenger bookings or accommodation upgrades will be at your own expense.
• Flights or Transport: You’ll need to organise your own return transport to your starting location.

What About Going To/From Hobart?

If you’re headed from Hobart to the mainland (or from the mainland to Hobart), Cruisin’ will pay for the vehicle and yourself on a comfortable Ocean Recliner Seat on the Spirit of Tasmania. Our Hobart relocations are particularly popular because an expedition on the Spirit of Tasmania adds to the overall relocation experience.

You can NOT change the sailing date. Due to ticket availability, you must board the Spirit of Tasmania with your motorhome on the date we provide.
