6 Reasons to Enjoy a Family Camper Escape this Easter

It can often be difficult to find time to get away and relax with the entire family. Between school, work, activities and everything else that keeps a family busy, finding the time can be an almost impossible task.

That is where Easter comes in, it is a great opportunity to lay back and enjoy all that this public holiday has to offer. So why not gather the family and enjoy a Cruisin’ Australian camper escape?

1. Take advantage of the public holiday

As previously mentioned, Easter is the perfect time to plan a family getaway. Schools out for the long weekend, and Good Friday and Easter Monday are recognised public holidays – so there shouldn’t be a need to book some time off in advance.

Many families make their Easter getaway an annual event, some even returning to the same locations each year. However, with all the amazing destinations that Australia has to offer, why not change it up each year! You could even start a family bucket list of places to see. For some inspiration to get you started check out our favourite .

2. Indulge a little

Easter is the time to indulge a little. Everything from Australian fresh fish for Good Friday, to locally made chocolate treats on Easter Sunday. No matter what Easter treats you are looking forward to you can enjoy them wherever you are.

When it comes to enjoying the traditional fish dinner for Good Friday, be aware that cooking in a campervan can be a little bit different to cooking at home.

Foil packets are a great way to cook fish on a stovetop – you simply place your fish of choice along with some herbs and lemon into a foil wrap and bake using the built-in stovetop. We recommend opening the doors and windows to reduce any odours coming from your choice of fish.

When it comes to something sweeter, there are countless Australian chocolatiers that hand-make amazing treats every Easter. From traditional eggs and bunnies to something a little more refined for Mum and Dad. Shopping local can give your Easter treats that little bit of WOW factor.

3. Visit your extended family

Easter is all about family. Which means that this is the perfect time to visit those relatives that live a bit further away. With your own accommodation in tow, you can stay for a day or even more without being that annoying houseguest.

You could even turn the holiday into a family gathering. Why not get a group together, rent a few campervans and set off on an adventure with your extended family. Who knows what might transpire?

5. Escape the clock

This trip is the perfect time to unwind, for the whole family. With no drop-off times and check-ins to worry about, the time is yours to enjoy. A campervan is the perfect way to enjoy this time as your accommodation travels with you. So no getting up for that 10am check-out, or missing the breakfast buffet in a traditional hotel, you get up when it suits you and chose what you eat (and when).

6. Enjoy each other’s company

Why not take this opportunity to really enjoy each other's company, ditch the technology and spend time together. Pack some board games or even make your own fun. You could plan an egg hunt around your campsite, make some hand-made rabbit ears to wear for the day, or even try renaming some local attractions with an easter-theme.

There are so many things that you could do that don’t require an internet connection, so take this opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other. Who knows what fun you will come up with! If you need some tips on travelling in a motorhome with kids, check out our tips here.

7. We have the right Cruisin’ Motorhome for you

Choosing the right motorhome plays a big part in the success of your trip. We have options available for all travellers – from our 2 berth campervans all the way to our 6 berth motorhomes.

  • Couple Travels

For those travelling as a couple, our 2 and 4 berth vehicles provide plenty of space. The 2 berth Hi-top is our entry level campervan, and this is the only vehicle in our fleet without a built-in shower and toilet.

You can choose our The Rover has a comfortable seating area at the back of the camper, that converts into your bed each evening. The Sandpiper has a permanent (and very comfortable) bed at the back of the motorhome and is perfect for those who want to relax in bed for longer hours.

  • Family Travels

If you are travelling with your family, choosing either our 4 or 6 berth motorhomes might be the way to go. The 4 berth Seeker comes with one convertible bed and one set bed above the driver's cabin, whereas the Adventurer has both beds in a permanent position. Our 6 berth Discovery has one permanent bed above the driver’s cabin and two convertible beds in the motorhome itself.

Our customers favourite choice are our 4 berth Deluxe or 6 berth Deluxe for extra space and luxury! They are the latest models on the fleet.
