With blooming season in full swing, this colourful Lavender Estate in Tasmania is a popular tourist destination for anyone visiting the state’s north east.
With lavender flowering season here, Nabowla’s Bridestowe Lavender Estate is a must-see attraction and makes for a fantastic photo opportunity and stopover on your Tasmanian motorhome or campervan adventure. Set over 265 acres, the lavender farm is a colourful delight for the senses.
The Estate is situated outside of Scottsdale in the rugged north-east of Tasmania just over 200 kilometres from the capital of Hobart. While you’re there, stroll through endless fields of
lavender and absorb the magnificent natural Tasmanian surrounds. The estate is home to approximately 44 hectares of premium, perfume grade lavender and is one of the largest plantations of its kind in the world.
Take a self-guided or guided tour of the manicured gardens and watch an informative audio-visual presentation documenting the estate’s rich history. Learn about the harvesting and
distillation processes at the Visitor Centre or peruse the delightful lavender products for sale including soaps, hand creams and Bobbie the famous Bridestowe bear.
To break up the day, enjoy the magnificent sea of purple from the Woodcroft Café where you can sample some unique lavender-inspired cuisine. If you’re looking for somewhere close to
stay, Bridport Holiday Park in nearby Bridport offers a great range of facilities including spacious powered and unpowered sites catering to motorhomes, campervans and tents. The famous Barnbougle Dunes Links Course is also just a short drive from the accommodation.
The lavender harvesting is undertaken in summer of each year so don’t miss your chance to experience Bridestowe Lavender Estate. The Estate is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week through summer months.
