With blooming season in full swing, this colourful
Lavender Estate in Tasmania is a popular tourist destination for anyone
visiting the state’s north east.
With lavender flowering season here, Nabowla’s Bridestowe
Lavender Estate is a must-see attraction and makes for a fantastic photo
opportunity and stopover on your Tasmanian motorhome or campervan
adventure. Set over 265 acres, the lavender farm is a colourful delight
for the senses.
The Estate is situated outside of Scottsdale in the rugged
north-east of Tasmania just over 200 kilometres from the capital of
Hobart. While you’re there, stroll through endless fields of
lavender and absorb the magnificent natural Tasmanian surrounds. The
estate is home to approximately 44 hectares of premium, perfume grade
lavender and is one of the largest plantations of its kind in the world.
Take a self-guided or guided tour of the manicured gardens
and watch an informative audio-visual presentation documenting the
estate’s rich history. Learn about the harvesting and
distillation processes at the Visitor Centre or peruse the delightful
lavender products for sale including soaps, hand creams and Bobbie the
famous Bridestowe bear.
To break up the day, enjoy the magnificent sea of purple
from the Woodcroft Café where you can sample some unique
lavender-inspired cuisine. If you’re looking for somewhere close to
stay, Bridport Holiday Park in nearby Bridport offers a great range of
facilities including spacious powered and unpowered sites catering to
motorhomes, campervans and tents. The famous Barnbougle Dunes Links
Course is also just a short drive from the accommodation.
The lavender harvesting is undertaken in summer of each year
so don’t miss your chance to experience Bridestowe Lavender Estate. The
Estate is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week through summer
